The exhibition On Borrowed Time(s) showcases the work of students and alumni from MA Photographic Studies, The exhibition includes work by MAPS current students Xiaobo Fu, William Eckersley, Wilf Speller and  Maria Tzili together with Alumni Basil Al-Rawi, Paula Gortázar and Jan Stradtmann.

Mari Rustan is now Art Editor for  SMUG magazine

Ilektra Stefanatou is now an intern working with the artists Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin.

Ochi Reyes photographic series Memory is like sand in my hands has been commissioned by FRINGE! Film Festival in London art program to be exhibited during the festival in November 2014. Her series Mother will be on show at Wallflower Photomedia Gallery in Mildura, Australia in October 2014.

Dilara Arısoy worked on the organizing committee member of the 1st International Women Photographers Symposium in Turkey. Recently in 2014 her work is exhibited in different galleries of Istanbul as part of the exhibition ‘Second Eye Women Photographers from Turkey’ in Istanbul. She is now working as the coordinator of the Gender Studies Centre at the prestigious Koç university in Istambul.

Maria Kapajeva is now a photography lecturer working at UCA (Farnham) where she is also taking a PG Certificate in Teaching & Learning. Her MA work is exhibited now at Harn Art Museum, Florida, USA and further work will be shown in London at Pushkin House opening mid-March.

Mark Righo is preparing a show for Lebenson Gallery in Paris with his light box work from the MA. He has also has been a visiting tutor at the University of South Wales, in a professional workshop for BA photography students.

Luba Kozorezova is now working as a picture editor and producer at Wonderzine, an on-line magazine in Moscow. Her degree project was included in “Young photography. Season 2013 1/2” exhibition by the Foto Departament Foundation and published in the Source Photographic review.


Paula Gortázar was awarded £1000 at Archisle Photography Exhibition in Jersey for her MA Photographic Studies project Common Space. This project is also being shown in Madrid until late February as part of the exhibition Critical Context: Spanish Photography in the 21st Century, supported by the Spanish Arts Council.

Clément Verger has an exhibition of his new work The Anthropogenic Landscape at the Musée de Minéralogie Mines ParisTech, France until September 2014.

Su Fahy co-curated the show Recherché at Wolverhampton Art Gallery (September– October). The exhibition was a research initiative involving postgraduate students at the University of Wolverhampton and artists in residence.

Rula Halawani has new photographic work included in the book View From Inside: Contemporary Arab Photography, Video and Mixed Media, edited by Wendy Watriss (Schilt Publishing, 2014).

Jessa Fairbrother new photographic series My too blue heart on your two blue sleeves was in the 161st Annual Open at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol, from November 2013 – January 2014.
