Her project Naseeb: Trafficked, undertaken in India on the subject of Human Trafficking into Prostitution, has been exhibited extensively both in the UK and internationally and as a solo exhibition both at the Perth Centre for Photography in February 2013 and presented by Autograph ABP and Next Level Projects in 2012. The work was also selected and exhibited by the Photographers Gallery London for FreshFacedandWildEyed11 and by Magenta Flash Forward 2012.
Sonal has undertaken an advertising commission for Cobra Beer and her work has been published by the FT Weekend Magazine, Saturday and Sunday Telegraph Magazines, Harpers Bazaar India, Scotland on Sunday Magazine, Africa Report, Foto 8 and AG Magazine.
Undertaking the Masters in Photojournalism at the University of Westminster enabled me to research, execute and complete a diverse range of visual based projects at home and internationally.
The emphasis on storytelling throughout the course meant that editing and sequencing my work as well as well as to write about my projects on a professional basis are now of a second nature. These core skills have been and will continue to be invaluable in my practice.
