Paula Gortázar is a Spanish photographic artist and lecturer based in London. From 2002 to 2007 she received individual photography training with Rafael Sanz Lobato (Spanish National Photography Award 2011). In 2010 she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Photography from Central Saint Martins College of Art and in 2011 she completed an M.A in Photographic Studies at the University of Westminster. Paula also holds a Law Degree that has influenced her photographic practice by allowing her to better communicate current social and political issues.
Her work has been widely exhibited in Canada, USA, UK and Spain and published in different international media including the British Journal of Photography. Among several awards, she has recently been selected for Flash Forward Festival, the Sony World Photography Awards 2012 and has had her work exhibited at The Photographers’ Gallery as part of Fresh Faced & Wild Eyed graduate show.

Centred around questions of authenticity and the representation of collective histories, Past Perfect (2008 – 2016), is a new series of photographs by British photographer Jason Larkin, highlighting the visual presentation of war and conflict within public museums around the world.
