After he was awarded his PhD in June 2011, Marco embarked on a Visiting Fellowship
at the Australian National University in Canberra where he taught photography
practice and theory. In January 2012 Marco was appointed Lecturer in Visual
Communication at Loughborough University. Recent publications include a chapter in
‘Theorizing Visual Studies’ edited by James Elkins (Routledge), an essay in the book
‘Kim Jong Il Looking at Things’ (Jean Boîte) and a chapter in the volume ‘Frontiers
of Screen History’ (Intellect). Three short essays on the visual culture of the Arab
Revolutions have been shown as part of the exhibition ‘Power! Photos! Freedom!’ at
FoMu in Antwerp, Belgium.
